A fun, fresh and fall wedding is just what Amanda and Craig Walsh envisioned for their big day on October 13, 2012 in London, Ontario. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Craig and Amanda treated their 87 guests to a wedding with orange, purple and other autumn coloured-details.
The newlyweds started out as high school sweethearts, but would not have gotten together if it hadn’t been for their part-time jobs at a local grocery store in Chatham, Ontario. They’ve been together ever since, and when it came time for Craig to pop the question, he made sure that Amanda was surprised. He secretly bought an engagement ring and hid it in his golf clubs, somewhere Amanda would never find it. A month later, Craig proposed at just the right moment with just the two of them.
Having a “first glimpse” of each other before the ceremony was Amanda’s favourite moment from her big day. “Seeing Craig before the was not only special and intimate, but it really calmed both of our nerves,” says Amanda. “We were able to have that private time together and it honestly felt that we were the only people in the world.”
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail, it was a joint effort and they both decided that putting ‘themselves’ into their wedding theme was what made the day unique. “We created a slideshow to play throughout the reception with pictures of our entire lives,” says Amanda. “We also tried hard to stick with the ‘fun’ theme, especially by having our Photo booth – everyone had a great time posing for pictures.”
